Storgae Issues

Four places you can save electronic documents are:

1. Through google documents -
  • Pros:
  • Anytime you have Internet Access you can get to it.
  • Cons:
  • If at some point you don't have Internet access you can't locate it.

2. A Network Drive (here at Fairmont it's the U-drive) -
  • Pros:
  • You can access it anytime you are logged in to the network it's saved to.
  • Cons:
  • If you aren't connected to the network then you can't access it.

3. On the C-drive (My Documents, Desktop, etc.) -
  • Pros:
  • You don't have to be on the Internet to get to your documents.
  • Cons:
  • If or when the computer crashes, all your documents are gone!

4. USB or Jump Drive -
  • Pros:
  • It's inexpensive and you don't have to be connnected to the Internet to use it.
  • Cons:
  • They are easily lost and can break.

These are four ways to store electronic documents and why each are helpful and why each can be stressful.

Published a Webpage

Today in class we:
1. Set up a chat in gmail.
2. Added contacts in gmail.
2. Made a document on Microsoft Word and saved it to the desktop.
4. Then we uploaded it to Google Documents.
3. The fun doesn't stop...we went even farther and made that document a web page.

Here's my webpage.
